She went on to study Philosophy, and has taught Buddhism across the world for decades, She is currently a Professor of Religion Emerita at Wesleyan University as well as a visiting professor at Agnes Scott College. Her work explores women and Buddhism, race and Buddhism, and Tantric Buddhism, among other topics.
