A few doors down from the London Buddhist Centre is the Jambala secondhand bookshop. Open for 20 years, it's filled with a rich variety of books – from poetry and fiction, through to Dharma and children's books – as well as other gift items like candles and essential oils.

One of the charms of the bookshop is that it's reliant upon donations from the sangha and the local community. So it's the generosity of those who give which fills the shelves with a wide and ever-changing assortment of books.

Like the other Buddhist business nearby, the team aim to exemplify their Buddhist values through their work. The result is a friendly and creative atmosphere, with many regulars popping in for a chat and volunteers happy to offer their time and ideas.
