BuddhaMind Subscription Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5th March 2026
These Subscription Terms & Conditions govern paid subscriptions to BuddhaMind. They form part of the wider BuddhaMind Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
By starting a free trial or purchasing a BuddhaMind subscription, you agree to these Subscription Terms & Conditions.
1. About us
BuddhaMind is provided by London Buddhist Centre, a charity registered in United Kingdom with registered address at 51 Roman Road, E2 0HU.
You can contact us at: app@lbc.org.uk
2. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to any user who starts a free trial or purchases a paid BuddhaMind subscription through:
- the BuddhaMind website
- the Apple App Store
- Google Play
- any other purchase channel we make available from time to time
3. What the subscription includes
A BuddhaMind subscription gives you access to premium paid features, content, or services described at the point of purchase.
Your subscription may include, for example:
- access to premium meditation courses
- guided practices or other audio/video content
- members-only features
- other benefits described in the app or on our website
The exact features included in your subscription may change from time to time as we develop BuddhaMind. We may add, remove, improve, or modify features, provided we do not materially reduce the core paid service you purchased without a valid reason.
4. Subscription plans
We may offer one or more of the following:
- monthly subscriptions
- annual subscriptions
- free trials
- promotional or discounted subscriptions
- gift or partner access
- subsidised or complimentary access linked to London Buddhist Centre courses, retreats, or other eligible programmes
The price, billing period, trial length, and included features will be shown clearly before you subscribe.
5. Free trials
We may offer free trials to some users.
Unless stated otherwise at the time of sign-up:
- the free trial lasts for the period shown when you sign up
- at the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically convert into a paid subscription
- the payment method you provided will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends
We may limit eligibility for free trials, including limiting them to new subscribers or specific groups such as course participants or retreat attendees.
We may withdraw or change free trial offers at any time for future users.
6. Auto-renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.
This means:
- monthly subscriptions renew each month
- annual subscriptions renew each year
- your payment method will be charged automatically at the applicable rate unless you cancel in time
The renewal price will be the price displayed to you at the point of purchase, unless we notify you in advance of a price change.
7. Pricing and taxes
Subscription prices are shown at the point of purchase.
Prices:
- may vary by country, platform, currency, or promotional offer
- may include or exclude applicable taxes, depending on the platform and local law
- may differ between web purchases and in-app purchases
You are responsible for any internet access, mobile charges, bank charges, or other third-party fees you incur when using BuddhaMind.
8. Payment
You authorise the relevant payment provider or app store to charge the subscription fees shown at checkout.
Depending on how you subscribe:
- Apple App Store purchases are billed by Apple and managed through your Apple account
- Google Play purchases are billed by Google and managed through your Google account
- web purchases are billed by us or our third-party payment processor
We do not store full payment card details unless explicitly stated otherwise through our payment provider.
If your payment fails, we may retry billing. If payment remains unsuccessful, we may suspend or end your access to paid features.
9. Managing and cancelling your subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time.
If you subscribed through Apple
You must cancel through your Apple account settings or the App Store subscription settings.
If you subscribed through Google Play
You must cancel through your Google Play account settings.
If you subscribed on the web
You can cancel by:
- logging into your BuddhaMind account and using the subscription management page, or
- contacting us at app@lbc.org.uk
When you cancel:
- your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period, unless local law requires otherwise
- you will not be charged again after cancellation
- cancelling does not usually entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of the current billing period, except where required by law or expressly stated in these terms
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
10. Cooling-off and statutory rights
If you are a consumer, you may have legal rights to cancel within a statutory cooling-off period, depending on where you live and how you purchased the subscription.
Where digital content or digital services are supplied immediately after purchase, you may be asked to consent to immediate access and acknowledge that this can affect your cancellation rights to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
11. Refunds
App Store and Google Play purchases
If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, refunds are generally handled by the relevant platform under its own policies. You should request any refund directly from Apple or Google.
Web purchases
If you subscribed on the web, refunds are handled by us in accordance with applicable law and this section.
Unless required by law, we do not usually provide refunds for:
- partial billing periods
- unused time after cancellation
- failure to use the subscription
- accidental purchases where the service has already been used
We may, at our discretion, provide a full or partial refund in exceptional circumstances.
Nothing in this section limits any non-excludable statutory rights you may have.
12. Eligibility-based or complimentary access
From time to time, we may provide free, discounted, or temporary premium access to people who are enrolled on eligible London Buddhist Centre courses, retreats, or related programmes.
Such access:
- may be subject to separate eligibility rules
- may be time-limited
- may be withdrawn if granted in error or if eligibility ends
- does not necessarily create an ongoing entitlement to paid subscription access
We may use booking or account information to verify eligibility.
13. Account responsibility
You are responsible for:
- keeping your login details secure
- ensuring your account information is accurate and up to date
- all activity carried out through your account unless caused by our error
You must not share your account in a way that is inconsistent with the plan purchased or intended use of BuddhaMind.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is fraud, abuse, unauthorised sharing, or misuse of the service.
14. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep BuddhaMind available and functioning well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
We may need to:
- carry out maintenance
- fix bugs
- update content
- change features
- suspend access temporarily for technical or security reasons
We may also change or discontinue part of the subscription service where reasonably necessary, including for legal, technical, operational, or safeguarding reasons.
15. Devices, platforms, and third parties
BuddhaMind may be available across different devices, operating systems, and platforms. Some features may vary depending on platform, app version, or region.
Your use of BuddhaMind may also be subject to third-party terms, including those of:
- Apple
- Stripe or another payment processor
- other platform or device providers
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
16. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in BuddhaMind, including its content, branding, design, text, audio, video, and software, belong to us or our licensors.
A subscription gives you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to access and use the subscription content for your own private use in accordance with these terms.
You must not:
- copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit subscription content
- record, scrape, or download content except where we expressly allow it
- reverse engineer or interfere with the app or service
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to paid features if:
- you materially breach these terms
- payment is overdue or repeatedly fails
- we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse
- we are required to do so for legal or regulatory reasons
Where appropriate, we will try to give reasonable notice.
If we terminate your subscription without fault on your part, we will consider whether a full or partial refund is appropriate.
18. Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- BuddhaMind is provided for personal use only
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses
- we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control
- we are not liable for business losses, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity if you use BuddhaMind for commercial purposes
If we are liable to you, our total liability in relation to a subscription will generally be limited to the amount you paid for that subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless the law says otherwise.
19. No medical or therapeutic advice
BuddhaMind provides meditation, mindfulness, educational, and spiritual wellbeing content. It is not medical, psychiatric, therapeutic, or crisis support advice.
You are responsible for deciding whether the content is appropriate for you. If you have concerns about your mental or physical health, you should seek advice from a qualified professional.
20. Changes to these subscription terms
We may update these Subscription Terms & Conditions from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by email, through the app, or on our website.
The updated version will apply from the date stated at the top, except where law requires additional notice or consent.
21. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence.
22. Disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at app@lbc.org.uk and we will try to resolve it.
If a dispute cannot be resolved, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
