Mindful Movement Morning
The practice begins with Tai Chi to get the energy flowing, this evolves into a period of guided free-form movement. Instructions will be imbued with imagery to stimulate the imagination and subsequently enliven us to the physical sensations of the body. Following this we learn how to move on the floor, which takes us into new movement patterns and gentle rolls. The session ends with a period of relaxation to connect to depth in our experience.
Throughout the practice we will:
- Connect to what movement feels like, rather than what it looks like.
- Connect to how your body likes to move, through listening intuitively.
- Connect to the pleasure and joy of moving and breathing.
- Initiate movement from different body parts, approaching movement in different ways.
- Explore your creativity, with an attitude of curiosity and playfulness.
- Cultivate a kindly awareness whilst we move.
The class is playful and helps develop agility, coordination, flexibility, stamina and body awareness.
Open to all, some experience of yoga or other movement practices helpful but not essential.
